Save a prayer

Duran Duran

…is a fascinating band. Even nowadays. And I always loved the voice of Simon Lebon. His ability to shape emotions into melodies always was iconic and kind of an ideal to me. I had all the records from Duran Duran and also Arcadia, but “Save a prayer” is my favorite of their songs by far.

Because the original features a lot of recognisable synth-sounds, I wanted to do a somewhat rockier version. I added a metal-like guitar for the arpeggioline together with some staccato strings and a really heavy metal drummer (from the brilliant Logic Pro X drummer). Et violà – my very energetic version of an 80s classic.

But maybe, I will do another version. This project is taking shape and leaning more and more towards a modern, more electronic approach. So maybe I’ll do another version…
